Song of the Day: Battle On!

There's a fairly new flash series called TOME, and it's pretty good. Good drawings, animation, story, and voice acting. The guy even gets professional voice actors for it.

The song used in the ending credits is "Battle On!". It has plenty of energy, and fits well with the style of the show. Something that gives you the feeling of "I'm gonna take on the world!"

Song of the Day: Tuck 'n Roll

OverClocked Remix recently came out with a new album, Maverick Rising. It has a lot of remixes from all of the Mega Man X games, and it's got quite a few good ones. This is called song of the day, however, so I'll focus on one: Tuck 'n Roll.

Apparently its genre is something called ska, but I don't really understand genres anyways. This wasn't something that appealed to me at first. The instruments sound kind of messy to me. I really like Armored Armadillo's music though, so I listened to it a few times. After a few listens it grew on me, and is now probably my favorite of Maverick Rising. What I really like is that it has lyrics, which is rare for video game remixes. The lyrics don't make much sense though, but then again what song does?
Still, it's done really well and it's a fun listen.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go find Mega Man X Collection.

Song of the Day: Big Beat Eddsworld

Big Beat Eddsworld is fine example of an odd type of music I like: Creating music out of random sound clips. This song takes sound clips of an episode from an online show called Eddsworld. It's fairly decent and worth a look.

I don't know if I can really describe why I like this song. It's got a good beat, and while the "lyrics" don't have much variety, it's mixed around enough to keep it interesting. I dunno. I just like it.

Song of the Day: We're Yu-Gi-Oh

You may have heard of Yu-Gi-Oh, right? Well, there's a series called Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged, which is just what it sounds like except it's pretty funny. And from this series comes today's song, We're Yu-Gi-Oh. Apparently it's a parody on something from Tenacious D, but that had far too much foul language for me to listen to for very long.

This, like many other songs I've mentioned/will mention, are silly, but delightfully so. Even though it's silly it also brings in a sense of "epicness."

Song of the Day: VGPonies

Now that I'm no longer in AZ, and without means to get anywhere, my ASU Food Adventure posts have come to an end. Now for a new stream of posts: Song of the Day! The essence of these posts are for sharing interesting music I find. Be warned though, some of this stuff will be weird/nerdy; this post being no exception.

Came across VGPonies, a series of video game remixes with lyrics involving Ponies. Now I'm no "Brony," but I am a big video game music fan so this is within my interests.

As of this post, there are two songs from this that I like: Rarity Tears and Flutterman.

Rarity Tears: This is a remix of Bloody Tears, a song from Castlevania. Never played Castlevania myself, but I do like this song. One of the things I find interesting about this remix is that parts of it remind me a lot of music from Portal 2. The vocals are also done very well.

Flutterman: A remix of Flash Man from Mega Man 2. Ah, Mega Man: So many awesome songs come from here. Gameplay-wise I prefer the X and Zero series, but that's another discussion. This is probably my favorite of the two; Flash Man has a lot of energy, which is something I love in music. The vocals aren't as clear in this one, but it's still pretty good. The beginning part is also fun. Unfortunately, there's a section with foul language; it's when there deep voice starts. Upon downloading the song I cleaned it out, so if anyone wants the clean version let me know.
